Invoices can be based on the Billing Plan, the quote, the actual
costs incurred, or any other starting point. There is a wizard to take
you through the steps, many of which can be defaulted to suit your
process. You can see the costs related to the work being invoiced and
control which are ticked off against the invoice, eg if you are just
billing for the print purchase, you can leave the time unticked for the
next invoice.
There is a draft approval process for an invoice and once approved, it can be checked by Finance and then sent to the client. The invoice value can be automatically allocated to sales nominal
codes, using information already set up in the system if required. A posting to the agency accounts system then takes place. NB if set up in the appropriate way, it is possible to produce an invoice without keying anything at all.
